Day 1 |

Arrival - get a rousing reception at Kozhikode - the anchor point of
your Malabar picnic. Soon, check in to your Resort at Kappad. After
spending sometime at leisure, set out for sightseeing ‘Kozhikode’
- erstwhile capital city of the Zamorin Kingdom plus, a major domestic /
international trade center.
Visit Kozhikode’s noted landmarks like, the ‘Beach’ (City folk’s
favorite retreat), ‘Pazhassiraja Museum’ (A museum named after the
brave Warrior-King of medieval Malabar, housing many antique items
viz., mural paintings, coins, megalithic monuments…), ‘Beypore’ (A
graceful seashore-town, unscathed from modern reforms)… See the
world-famous traditional boat-building-yard at Beypore, where mammoth
crafts (known as ‘Urus’) are being built.
Later, visit the ‘Tali Temple’ (One of the oldest temples in Malabar -
the main deity is Lord Shiva). View its eye-catching stone sculptures
& woodworks. As night deepens, drive back to Kappad. Overnight stay
at the Kappad Resort.

Day 2 |

A calm beach-town, it was at Kappad that the European explorers first
set foot in India, almost 500+ years back ! Take this full-day to
explore the beauty of Kappad. Settle yourself in the unscathed beach…
Enjoy the charming coastline that ranks among the best in Kerala.
Apart from the beach, Kappad offers lovely backwater network fringed
with fertile paddy fields and coconut groves. Take your own time to
experience this marvel too. After plenty of eye-feasts; return to your
Resort for overnight stay.

Day 3 |

Today morning, check out from the Resort and drive to other scenic
locations in the Malabar region. On the way, you can opt for some
shopping (depending on time) in the Kozhikode city. Then, continue the
drive… A pleasurable ride thro’ the greenish Western Ghat hills, brings
you the next destination – Kodencherry, a location blessed with immense
natural beauty.
Check-in to the Hotel at Kodencherry. After ample relaxation; set out
for an evening sightseeing… Visit the nearby ‘Tusharagiri’ – a picnic
spot boasting of evergreen forest, waterfalls and varied flora &
fauna. Try out the numerous trekking / rock-climbing trails at
Tusharagiri – get yourself rejuvenated. As night falls, get back to
your Hotel for a sound sleep.

Day 4 |

This day, make expeditions to several unexplored places in the near vicinity of Kodencherry.
Enjoy climbing ‘Vellari Mala’ – a cliff beautified with velvet
greenery… Watch the lovely waterfall at ‘Olichattam’… Go trekking at
‘Anakkampoyil’… Variety entertainments, overall ! Following the
day-long adventurous stints, return to your lodgings at Kodencherry and
relax. Stay overnight at the Hotel.

Day 5 |

Time to see the “Green Paradise in the God's own Country”... Farwell to
Kodencherry, and now, it’s destination – Wayanad. On the way, you can
get your lunch packed, for a change!
First, visit the archeological wonder - ‘Edakkal Caves’, one of the
earliest centres of human habitat. See the rocky cave-walls decorated
with interesting carvings, that represent human / animal figures,
objects of human use, symbols, etc. Later, suspend your soft-trekking
to have lunch.
Relax for some time, then, drive to ‘Soochipara Waterfalls’ - a 3 tier
waterfall situated in the dense forest, so-called (‘Soochi’ means
‘Needle’ in local language) as the force of water here is quite high !
After getting an exposure to Wayanad’s unspoilt nature, check-in to your lodgings. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Wayanad.

Day 6 |

One more day to experience the Green Paradise's abundant charm… After
breakfast, proceed to ‘Kuruva Dweep’ - a tiny island lying on the
creeks of River Kabini.
Enriched with dense forest, Kuruva Dweep is a place that still retains
its pure self ! Go trekking thro’ those wildwoods… Watch rare species
of birds, orchids and herbs… Feel the refreshing, non-polluted
environment… All-together, a totally different experience !
At a later time, proceed to the nearby ‘Tholpetty Wild life Sanctuary’.
Drive inside the Sanctuary… Watch the wildlife that consists of Deers,
Elephants, Bisons, Leopards, Tigers, etc. Return to the Hotel in the
evening, and retire for the night.

Day 7 |

The last day of your ‘Magnificent Malabar’ tour… In the morning, have
breakfast and later, check-out from your Hotel. Drive back to
Kozhikode; proceed to the Airport / Railway Station with memories to
cherish forever.
